GO GREEN -UPGRADE for Datacard printers

 

Major Datacard Group initiative will occur throughout 2011. All Datacard® Certified Supplies with Intelligent Supplies Technology™, have RFID technology inside them and they will hit end-of-life during 2011. We have already introduced a new RFID technology in the supplies for the new SD Series desktop card printers, and we will continue to roll out these new tags in all of our other supply products.

This transition means that the RFID reader technology in all Datacard® SP printers must be upgraded before the end of 2011.

Desktop card printers will simply require a firmware upgrade.

The upgrade is free of charge

The upgrade is critical; it enables existing Datacard printers and systems to work with supplies that carry the new proprietary RFID tag. Production of supplies with the current RFID tag will end in early 2012. Upgraded systems will be able to use older supplies until current inventories are exhausted.

CardPlus Oy will perform this upgrade for all SP printers during normal yearly maintenance.
